Louis Koo urges people to donate to Ching Hai earthquake victims

Louis Koo as the ambassador for UNICEF participated in a fund raising event for Ching Hai earthquake victim. He appeared very serious throughout the event. Apart from urging people to donate generously, he revealed that his own trust fund had also donated money. He told reporter it is not important how money much one gives, that is why he refused to disclose the sum he had donated. Louis pointed out that the area of Ching Hai is very difficult to reach. It makes it more difficult for transportation for the relief effort. Louse is not intenting to visit the site due to its high altitude. Nevertheless, he hopes the relief effort can reach the area regardless of the location. It is very important that food and medical supply can reach there as soon as possible.

Talking about a recent media report that Ron Ng had borrowed money from him, but didn't want to pay back, and the two is not in good term. The two had appeared in a function together recently but there was no interaction between them. He was asked if it was true, Louis said he wouldn't answer this question as it is not true. The reporter went on to ask if he was seen with Ron recently, he replied "I am here for the fund raising today, not to reply matters that are not true."

Louis Koo & Sandra Ng have supernatural power in new film

Louis Koo, Sandra Ng and Peter Chan attended "Fantastic Crazy" press conference yesterday. Louis dressed up as an oriental "Batman" and Sandra was in red. They play the role as a couple having supernatural power. Sandra said "Since we both have supernatural power, there are lots of incredible stunts involving waist bending and body stretching. The cups and saucers in the room were all broken." Louis added "Sure sure." Sandra said Peter, her husband is the film producer, he should be there watching the shooting of the film, but he left half way. Sandra went on to say "In fact, that was the day when the film had its blessing ceremony. He was only there for that occasion. After he had gone, I was more relaxed." Louis said although he and Sandra have worked together a few times, it was the first time they play the role as a couple. He didn't feel very comfortable at first.

Louis Koo, Sandra Ng and Peter Chan was spotted at the airport yesterday. The trio was taking a flight to Hengdian to shoot the new film <神奇俠侶>. Reporter quickly asked Louis about the new film in which he reveals that there will be intimate scenes with Sandra Ng.

Actors Barbie Hsu & Louis Koo's secret romance

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu and Hong Kong actor Louis Koo are rumoured to have been keeping a secret romance for almost a year, leaving even Hsu’s mother in the dark, Taiwanese media reported.

Hsu, popularly known as Da S, had reportedly admitted to her sister after the pair collaborated on director Benny Chan’s movie, “Connected”, that she had really admired the actor.

True to the movie’s title, it was where the couple were ‘connected’, and despite not sharing many scenes together, it was reportedly apparent that Hsu and Koo harboured good feelings towards each other.

Hsu then had spoken extremely highly of her co-star, saying that he was handsome, a nice guy and filming romantic scenes with him was a pleasure. She even added that despite his cool exterior, Koo was a kind and caring person at heart.

After filming wrapped for “Connected”, Koo had even told the media that he had hoped to work with Hsu again soon.

Granting Koo’s wish and collaborating again this year on the film “Forbidden City: Top Dog”, the media also reported that it was because of Koo’s high recommendations of Hsu that landed the 32-year-old actress the part.

In order to keep their romance a secret and out of the prying eyes of the paparazzi, the couple have reportedly only gone on dates overseas and only Hsu’s closest girlfriends are privy to the relationship.

Koo, 38, had once revealed that his ideal partner should be gentle, caring, not too clamorous, and should still be living with her parents.

Hsu, after ending her public romance with F4 boyband member Vic Zhou, had once said that she wasn’t harbouring any specific hopes for her love life. However, the actress did admit at the time that she did have someone who was interested in her.

Koo had reportedly a helped Hsu with translation, rehearsed scenes with her first and taught her what to do while filming.

When previously asked by reporters if she would consider Koo as a potential boyfriend, Hsu had replied, “He didn’t even display his feelings and say that he likes me!”

Well judging from the ways things have gone down, perhaps all that has changed?

With that star studded cast–led by the always reliable Lau Ching Wan–and direction from the makers of Infernal Affairs, Overheard was a lock to be better than the usual standard Hong Kong crime thrillers. It's great news for audiences and the Hong Kong film industry as a whole that Overheard is a thoroughly engrossing tale that's not only a crime story but a character study.

Johnny Leung (Lau Ching Wan), Gene Yeung (Louis Koo) and Max Lam (Daniel Wu) are three cops assigned by the Criminal Intelligence Bureau to monitor the office of a successful trading company. Under surveillance 24/7, the three are to pick apart any suspicious activity. When Gene and Max pick up details of a boost in company share, they withhelod the information due to greed and invest in the stocks themselves. It isn't long until Johnny realizes this and a dilemma is set: does he do the right thing or does he go along with the plan?

Before we paint Gene and Max as greedy, corrupt cops, the film sheds light into the lives of each cop and through these scenes, we empathise with these characters. Perhaps if we were in their shoes we would have done the same thing.

Of course, with the company backed by a dangerous businessman (Michael Wong), things get ugly for the trio and the predicament snowballs out of control. If there's one gripe with Overheard it's that it lacks a traditional climax. The tension picks up early in the film and it just stays there. But the top notch production values, smart script, witty dialogue (especially by Louis Koo's hilarious character) and the strong acting all around makes up for it.

Louis Koo gain 30 pounds for new movie

To promote new movie "Eavesdropping Situation" 《竊聽風雲》(directed by Alan Mak), Louis Koo Tin Lok, Daniel Wu Yiu Cho and Sean Lau Ching Wan appeared as guests on the Mainland talk show 《背後的故事》. The trio discussed the ups and downs of their careers and Daniel Wu revealed that he was extremely nervous when he filmed opposite Shu Qi early in his career.

When he was still a novice actor, Daniel had the opportunity to film opposite Shu Qi, who was already a popular artist at the time. Daniel felt very nervous and sweated in each scene opposite his co-star. Shu Qi was very friendly towards Daniel and often chatted with him, leading him into their scenes together. She assisted him and the pair became very good friends. If they were to film together again, Daniel will not be nervous.

While filming "The Banquet," Daniel grew close with Zhou Xun. Since the pair were both Libras, they shared numerous similarities. Daniel considered Zhou Xun to be one of his "brothers."

In “Eavesdropping Situation,” Louis gained 30 pounds for his role. However, since he portrayed a cancer patient in the movie, he had to shed 20 pounds to film the back-half of the movie. Since there was not much time between gaining weight and losing the weight afterwards, he did not eat for three days. He exercised profusely and ran for every 2 hours during every six hour interval. Despite this rigorous routine, Louis felt that this was his responsibility as an actor. Louis pointed out that Robert DeNiro gained 60 pounds for his movie, “Raging Bull.”

HONG KONG - Miriam Yeung, Louis Koo and Charlie Yeung attended "Wenchuan earthquake annual record reports" in Beijing on May 11. Dr. Kong Meiqi, vice Chair of Hong Kong Committee for United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) thanked the three Unicef ambassadors Miriam, Louis and Charlie who went to Sichuan with Unicef to visit the earthquake victims.

She praised the three of them who went to Sichuan twice in the last two years to send hope and encouragement to the local people as well as helping to oversee the progress and development of the rebuilding work. Miriam, Louis and Charlie expressed their wish to re-visit Sichuan, to send their love and hope to the children who were affected by the earthquake again.
