S.H.E reveal solo career plans for 2010

The three members girls group S.H.E. announced at a press conference in Singapore that each will pursue a solo career in 2010. There was no mention of the group dissolving.

The name S.H.E. came from the first letter of each of the band member's name Selina Ren, Hebe Tian and Ella Chen.

SINGAPORE: Taiwan Mando-pop trio S.H.E revealed their solo career plans for 2010 at a press conference during the opening ceremony of SMRT's Circle Line, at Stadium Station on Saturday.

Selina, 28, said she will soon be hosting a television programme, with negotiations "very close to completion".

While the singer, whose father Ren Mingting was also a television host, declined to elaborate on what kind of show it will be as "that detail has not been confirmed yet", she said she "would like to try a food-related programme or a game show".

Hebe, on the other hand, is gearing up to release her first solo album and is in the midst of collecting songs for it. She also said she is working on her media skills as she will have to promote her album alone, without her bandmates.

"I am very worried. I have to face the media and take interviews. I am worried I am not up to the task so I am practising," said the 27-year-old.

Ella, 28, who recently appeared in the Taiwanese drama "Down With Love", said she will be "preparing to appear in a movie as discussions are almost complete" and hoped that fans will be supportive of her film debut.

Despite their candid revelations on their solo career plans, there was no talk about the group dissolving.

S.H.E's music label, HIM International Music, had previously stated that while the trio may embark on solo careers, the group will be kept intact.

S.H.E S'pore concert sold out but there's hope for ticketless fans

SINGAPORE: The upcoming S.H.E the One concert at the National Indoor Stadium on Saturday is completely sold out, but if ticketless fans want to get a glimpse of the Mando-pop trio, there are still a few opportunities left.

S.H.E members Selena, Hebe and Ella will be flying in on Eva Air flight BR225 and is expected to touch down on Friday afternoon at 12pm for their concert the next day.

For those who simply can't make their way to the airport on that day, another good chance to catch them is to stake out the opening ceremony of SMRT's Circle Line that takes place on Saturday at 1pm.

The girl group will make an appearance at Stadium Station to declare 11 Circle Line train stations open.

And on Sunday, you can head down to Plaza Singapura at 5pm where S.H.E are set to hold an event to thank their fans for the sellout concert, as well as for pushing their latest album "SHERO" to the top of the music charts here, two weeks after its release.

Those with copies of their album "SHERO" can also get them signed during the event.

Taiwan’s Fahrenheit to Meet Fans in Seoul

Fahrenheit, a popular boy band dubbed as "Taiwan's TVXQ," will meet its Korean fans this Friday.

Band members Aaron Yan, Wu Chun, Calvin Chen and Jiro Wang will be visiting Seoul to promote Taiwan as a tourist destination. The boy band has been tapped by Taiwan's Tourism Bureau as ambassadors to Korea and Japan.

Fans will have a chance to see Fahrenheit perform their hit songs and interact with their favorite members at their first official fan meeting at the Melon-AX Hall, March 26, according to event organizer Mays Entertainment.

Actress Koo Hye-sun will also be appearing as a special guest. Koo, who is best known as the heroine in the hit KBS drama ``Boys Over Flowers," filmed a music video with Fahrenheit last January. The video ``Touch Your Heart'' showed Koo visiting popular tourist attractions in Taiwan and sampling Taiwanese cuisine with the Fahrenheit members.

The band made its debut in 2006, releasing a self-titled album in Taiwan and China. Their subsequent albums were ``Two-Sided Fahrenheit'' in 2008 and ``Love You More and More'' in 2009.

Fahrenheit members have appeared in several Taiwanese dramas, such as ``KO One'' and ``X-Family. Chun and Wang gained popularity throughout Asia when they starred in the hit comedy ``Hana Kimi.''

Chun has also appeared in the dramas ``Tokyo Juliet,'' ``Romantic Princess'' and ``Hot Shot.'' Wang, who is known for his comedic talent, was also in ``It Started With a Kiss'' and ``They Kiss Again.''

Fahrenheit is known for their pop songs and ballads such as ``I Have My Youth,'' ``Love's Arrived,'' ``Ten Thousand Joys'' and ``New Home.''

The group has made several visits to Seoul in recent years. They performed at the 2008 Asia Song Festival, where they also received the Best Asian Artist award. Fahrenheit was also given the Asia Star award during the Asia Model Awards 2010 in January.

Angela Zhang silences drug accusations with urine test

With her family dispute affecting the release of her latest music album, The Fifth Season, Taiwanese singer-actress Angela Zhang called for a last-minute press conference and refuted rumours of her drug-taking habits by producing a medical report.

Due to the recent spate of events (her family's tussle for money, and drug-taking accusations), the petite singer's recording company decided to cancel 57 work assignments she was involved in, vastly affecting the promotional work for her latest music album.

She sighed helplessly and said, "I really feel very sorry what has happened lately. I would like to tell concerned friends that this is not a promotional stunt. Nobody would use such news as a promotional gimmick. There are a lot of unreal accusations lately."

"There has been a lot happening, I do not know what to say. I think we should give each other some space first. We should handle and solve our own domestic matters by ourselves," said Angela on her estranged relationship with her mother.

Previously, Angela's mother revealed that under the influence of "bad" friends, her daughter started to drink excessively and take drugs. Under such accusations, together with her siblings and friends, Angela immediately went for a urine test which would check for traces of ecstasy, marijuana, and other substances.

The medical results were out last Thursday and showed no traces of the singer's alleged drug abuse. With the results in hand, an agitated Angela broke into tears as she repeatedly proved her innocence before the press.

On Jenny's strained relationship with Angela's mother, Angela commented, "The problems that surfaced between a mother and her daughter is not created in one or two days. In fact, I feel sorry for dragging my friend into this entire matter."
