Interview with Ngo Thanh Van

Ngo Thanh Van cropped her hair for new movie
Interviewer: Hello Ngo Thanh Van. Can I call you " a gang robber"?
NTV: Hello! (laugh). That's my character in a new movie. In this film I am a gangster and follow orders from a big gangster boss. I have to complete 7 tasks for the boss to free myself from the life of a gangster. There is also another reason but I willl not disclose it now. You will have to wait and see the film to find out.
Interviewer: How is this film progressing?
NTV: At present the produser is casting for two characters to play my younger brother and Tri's (co-star) sister via the internet. I was impressed with the acting ability of the two young actors.

NTV and co-star Johnny Tri Nguyen
Interviewer: Well, this is your second film co-starring with Johnny Tri Nguyen?
NTV: Yes, indeed. After the first film, The Rebel I have received a lot of offers but none of the roles suit me. There were not many good roles and the scripts were ordinary. I like to do something different and I want to bring new ideas to the audiences.
Interviewer: Although you have not commenced filming but fans are very interested in the 'hot' images of you and Johnny Tri Nguyen together?
NTV: The images were shot for publication purposes. It will be a while until the film is officially released we thought that we would give the audience a glimpse of the new film to shortern their waiting time. Since we have not commence shooting I cannot tell you much about it.

NTV has to do her own fighting scenes without the help of a body double,
she has to practice martial art which result in her bruising

NTV was a model then she became a singer and now
she embark on a new challenge as an actress
Interviwer: I notice you have a lot of purple bruises on your arms, are you traning very hard?
NTV: Yes, I have to train very hard. Johnny Tri insists that I do my own fighting scenes therefore I have to learn to fight like a real martial artist. The fighting techniques of this film is very complex and harder to learn.
Since the new year, I have been training very hard but because my body muscles are not used to so much training I was getting a lot of bruises. As the training progresses I don't get as much bruises.
Interviewer: As a friend, what do you think of Johnny Tri Nguyen?
NTV: He is a very professional actor and director, I trust him completely in his directions. He knows how to make the opposite person feel confortable with themselve and confortable working with him. He has a good foundation in his acting and directing, he has learned his skill from Hollywood. When I work with him, I feel like a pupil and he's the teacher. He taught me a lot. (laugh). I feel very comfortable working with him.
Interviewer: When I watched The Rebel you seem awkward in the fighting scenes.
NTV: Yes, you are right. I am not a prefessional martial artist so my fighting scenes were not real. But I am impressed with my fightings in the film and I think Johnny Tri has done a good job bringing the fights to live. Some people have commented on my fighting scenes saying that they admire my techniques and asked me how long did it take me to learn to fight so well.
Interviewer: I looks like you're in love with making films. Will you ever return to the stage to continue your music career?
NTV: At present I am too busy with my filming schedule I don't have time to pursue my music career. Besides, the Vietnamese music industry is saturated with new comers, the audiences are confused with the music style of these new comers. Many singers have small success but they think they are stars that makes me bored of the of the music business now. I am not sure if i will return to music.
Interviwer: Thank you Ngo Thanh Van for an interesting chat.

South Korean police revealed that Yun allegedly has been smuggling drugs like ecstacy and ketamine into Korea since 2007 by hidding them in her undergarments. Police says that Joo Ji Hoon has been involved in this drug smuggling since last year and revealed that there has been 2 incidents which Joo had admiited to.

Ye Hak Young

I don't think Korea have the dealth penalty for drug smuggling like in Singapore and Vietnam. As for these actors and models although they may not have to face the dealth penalty but their career is no doubt going down hill from here!

Hugh Jackman receives Hollywood honour

Chinese Theatre in Hollywood April 21, 2009. [Agencies]

LOS ANGELES – Hugh Jackman, star of the upcoming "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," immortalized his name in Hollywood history on Tuesday by sinking his hand and foot prints into cement outside the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater.

The movie house on Hollywood Boulevard is a key tourist attraction, where for 82 years stars such as Cary Grant and Judy Garland have been honored by stamping their own signed hand and foot prints into the theater's forecourt.

Jackman recalled a previous trip to the venue with his wife, saying it was the first Hollywood landmark he visited in Los Angeles, and while there he put his hands into the prints of late comedian Peter Sellers.

"Here we are, 12 years later," he told a crowd at the ceremony. "It's a very humbling moment as an actor to be here. You look down at the names, from Fred Astaire to Cary Grant, Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino, Steve McQueen, John Wayne, and to think that those people have been immortalized and pretty soon I'll be putting my hands in wet cement," Jackman said, before planting his palms in the concrete.

In two weeks, the Australian actor debuts the new "X-Men Origins" movie, reprising his role as conflicted "mutant" Wolverine, who battles other, evil mutants trying to control the world.

Wolverine has sharp blades that protrude from his knuckles. He is among the most popular of X-Men comic book characters on which the films are based. There have been three "X-Men" movies, and combined they have grossed more than $1.1 billion at global box offices.

Jackman, 40, is known as a versatile actor who has starred in a range of movies from action adventures like "Swordfish" to romances such as last year's "Australia." He has enjoyed a Tony-winning stage career on Broadway and recently hosted Hollywood's Oscars.

Hugh Jackman is such a talented actor. He deserve every bit of his sucess! Congrats Hugh.

Yun-ha accused of plagiarism in new song 1, 2, 3

Korean blogs are buzzing with debate whether Kpop singer Yun-ha song 1, 2, 3 is a copycat work of the Jackson 5's song ABC. The first part of Yun-ha songs to me does sound a lot like the Jackson 5's. In her defence, Yun-ha record company was quoted saying that the song "1, 2, 3, is a Korean - Japanese- Swedish work. It is neither a sampling or a remake and is an innocent composition that we have created."

Well, we have to let our listeners be the judge of that.

Her latest album released in early April featuring "Luv U Luv U" was also accused of copying Lady Gaga so well known track "Just Dance".

Yun-ha's album was critised for lack of originaility.

What do you think? Would you buy her album if you knew she's ripping off someone else's music?

TV presenter Rachael Finch wins Miss Universe Australia 2009

Rachael Finch was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2009
yesterday at Sydney Hilton.

RACHAEL Finch, a beautiful brown-eyed brunette from Townsville, was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2009 at Sydney's Hilton Hotel last night. The event was held at the same time as the winner of Cleo's Bachelor of the Year was announced on the other side of town. (Axle Whitehead took home the Bachelor of the Year award).

Finch, a 20-year-old model and television presenter, beat 31 other finalists to win the award formerly won by Jennifer Hawkins, who then famously went on to become Miss Universe in 2004. That same year, Finch took out the Queensland young model of the year title in Townsville's Opal Fashion Bash pageant.

Model scout Henry Peterson encouraged her to enter the pageant after spotting her "underneath the wings of a Boeing 747 at Townsville Airport". "When I first saw her I knew she was special," he said.

"I told her: 'You'll be bigger than Jennifer Hawkins'." Rachael has since moved to Sydney, where she has obtained work through Chadwick model agency. She is also a TV presenter with Platinum Television, which provides video content for bars and events. She described winning the Miss Universe Australia title as surreal.

"How do I describe the feeling? What words do I use because to me it's like a dream," she said. "I feel like I'm in literally, a dream. It's surreal." For others wishing to follow in her footsteps, she said it was important to "stay focused, stay humble and be true to yourself".

"Coming from such a small town it's not only somewhere to grow up that's naturally beautiful but you really learn the value of growing in that small community and you get a lot of support and love and you can take that in your heart and take that to a bigger city or move on with your life and your career and really make a change.

"Follow your heart and reach for the stars because one day you will get there and that is what this is all about."

Korean Model Park Seo Jin took nude photos at 14

In a recent interview Korean model Park Seo Jin (15) said that she regretted her decision to take semi-nude photos for the modelling competition "Iam a model" hosted by Mnet last year.

Park Seo Jin joined the competition as the age of 14. After overcoming many competitors, she claim the winning title "I am a model". However, immediately after the competition, some semi nude photos of her and a male model was posted on an online newspaper. And quickly this becomes the topic of discussion online. Most of the comments were that she is too young to take the photographs.

She said: "I just went through a difficult time for being heavily criticized by people. At the time of shooting I did not see this as wrong but now I think, this once is enough. "

Hong Kong Film Awards 2009

Hong Kong Actor Louis Koo & Barbie Hsu

John Woo's Chinese historical epic, a biopic of Bruce Lee's kung fu master and a documentary-like look at a working-class neighbourhood are the top contenders at the Hong Kong Film Awards on Sunday.

The nominees reflect the past and present of Hong Kong's movie industry - once a major Asian filmmaking hub known for its local stories, but now increasingly geared toward the Chinese mainland market with historical and kung fu blockbusters.

Woo's $US80 million two-part epic Red Cliff, based on an ancient Chinese battle by the same name, is a prime example of the recent trend of films made with an eye toward mainland viewers. Wilson Yip's action-filled biography of Bruce Lee's teacher Ip Man is another example, portraying the late martial arts master as a patriot who resists the Japanese occupation of his southern Chinese hometown.

The first installment of Red Cliff is up for 15 prizes and Ip Man is competing for 12 at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Both movies are nominated for best picture.

But another top contender harkens back to the locally flavoured fare made in the former British colony known for its mix of Chinese and Western cultures.

Veteran filmmaker Ann Hui's The Way We Are, which follows the life of a single mother in Hong Kong's Tin Shui Wai district, is a contender for best film, best director, best screenplay and best actress.

The other best picture nominees are Hong Kong comedian Stephen Chow's sci-fi movie CJ7 and Gordon Chan's ghost thriller Painted Skin.

Woo and Yip are also up for best director, competing against Benny Chan for Connected and Johnnie To, who was nominated for Sparrow, a playful look at a pickpocket gang.

Former Cannes winner Tony Leung Chiu-wai received a nod for best actor for playing a Chinese general in Red Cliff. He faces off with action star Donnie Yen, who played Ip Man; Simon Yam in Sparrow; Nick Cheung from the police thriller The Beast Stalker; and heartthrob Louis Koo, who portrayed a gangster who struggles to give up a life of crime in Run Papa Run.

China's Zhou Xun, the lead in Painted Skin, is the biggest star in the best actress competition, but she faces stiff competition from Hong Kong's Prudence Liew, who won the Chinese-language equivalent of an Oscar at Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards in December for playing a sex worker in True Women for Sale.

The other nominees are Paw Hee Ching from The Way We Are, Barbie Hsu from Connected, and Karena Lam from the romance Claustrophobia.

Andy Lau too arrogant to commit to marriage!?

Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau is upset at rumour that he's going to wed long term girlfriend Carol Chu at the end of this month. He told reporters on Monday "No such thing. There is still not enough love for me to get married."

Lau has been linked with Carol Chu for a long period of time. Rumour has it that the couple have a kid together and that Carol and Andy's kid are currently residing in Malaysia.

Hong Kong medias speculate that the wedding will take place within this month. I however think that they are already married probably many years ago.

I think Andy is a fame hungry person. He's 48 years old this year he still thinks he can get young girls to fall in love with him so he denies that he's married.

Mate, unless to come out gay otherwise you're a married man.

World's first cloned camel born in Dubai

Scientists have successfully cloned a camel. A baby camel was born in Dubai.

Yahoo7 News reports...

A scientist says the world's first cloned camel has been produced in the desert emirate of Dubai.

Nisar Ahmad Wani, a senior reproductive biologist at the government's Camel Reproduction Centre, says the cloned camel is a six-day-old, one-humped female called Achievement or Injaz in Arabic.

Injaz was born April 8 after an uncomplicated gestation of 378 days, the centre said in a press release on Tuesday.

The centre said she was created from cells harvested from an ovary of an adult female camel.
Camels are a valuable commodity in the desert sheikhdoms of the Persian Gulf. They are used for racing and transport. They are famous for healthy low-fat milk and can fetch owners millions of dollars at camel beauty contests.
